Newcastle's Chancel Mbemba joins FC Porto
FC Porto have completed the signing of Newcastle defender Chancel Mbemba for a fee believed to be in the region of £7million.
The 23-year old made 54 league appearances for The Magpies, both in the Premier League and the Championship, but was deprived of regular game time last season, given just 11 appearances across all competitions under manager Rafa Benitez.
Mbemba, an international for the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has been brought in as additional cover in central defence, with the club having let both Marcano and Diego Reyes go this summer window.
