Seydou Doumbia has left Sporting CP - and is on his way to Spain
The Ivorian striker joined Sporting in the summer of last year, and failed to make a significant impact at the club.
Having arrived in Lisbon with an excellent goalscoring record at CSKA Moscow, hopes were high for Doumbia, who has also played 36 times for his country, scoring 9 goals in the process.
However, the 30-year old failed to find the net for Sporting a single time in 14 league appearances, with the minutes he was allocated in each of those outings heavily restricted. Indeed, across all competitions, he only played approximately 1,200 minutes of football, showing how difficult he found it to get into the side ahead of star striker Bas Dost.
Doumbia has subsequently moved to Girona, where he will be hoping to revitalise his career.
