Gelson Martins on the move?
Gelson is attracting interest from across the continent - and a move could now be on the cards.
While his move to Atletico Madrid hasn't worked out as so many had expected, the former Sporting player is still highly regarded and, with a move to the right club, he could ultimately end up becoming a star winger in the years to come.
Currently, there are ongoing talks for the pacey forward to join Thierry Henry's relegation threatened Monaco, who recently completed the signing of Cesc Fabregas and were interested in bringing in veteran defender Pepe, who decided to join Porto instead.
The signing could prove to be one of the worst in recently history for Atletico if Sporting get their way, with Sporting president Varandas demanding an astronomical €105million from Atletico Madrid, who originally signed Gelson for 'free' after he unilaterally terminated his contract with the club.
If they were made to pay that price in full, which is, by all accounts, highly unlikely, it would prove outrageously poor value for money, with Gelson only having played a handful of times for Atletico across all competitions.
Monaco's interest in the winger is real though, the club desperate to make some high profile additions as they bid to escape relegation, and adding another Portuguese to add to Rony Lopes who is already at the club could well be the answer.
The fact that Atletico want to sell players in order to build up funds to bring in Morata makes his sale this month even more likely.
Arsenal are another club believed to be interested in the player.
