Ricardo Costa could return to Porto
Experienced centreback Ricardo Costa could be one of a number of players brought to Porto next season.
The 38-year old has just come off a season of captaining Tondela, leading his side to a narrow escape from relegation.
Costa previously left Porto 12 years ago at the age of 26, when he departed the Portuguese giants to join Wolfsburg after spending 6 seasons with the Dragons.
Indeed, since he last left Porto, he has played for 7 different teams from across the continent, from Germany to Spain and Switzerland to Greece. He even had a brief stint in Qatar for Al Sailiya.
However, according to the latest edition of A Bola, Costa could now be set for a surprise return to his former side, who are short of centrebacks after the departure of Eder Militão and Felipe to Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid respectively.
It is unclear whether he would be part of the senior side or the B team, the latter a logical option which would offer the younger players in the side a terrific leader and mentor.
Costa has played for Portugal 22 times in total - his last appearance for his country coming in 2014 in a 1-0 home loss to Albania in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.
Were Ricardo Costa to join Porto, he would follow in the path of fellow veteran centreback Pepe, 36, in making a return to the club.
