Gonçalo Guedes could be on his way to England with Jorge Mendes involved
Having won Portugal the UEFA Nations League title after his second-half strike against The Netherlands, Guedes is cementing himself as a target of several clubs across Europe, in particular from the English Premier League.
Guedes, who has represented his country 16 times at senior level and scored 3 goals in the process, missed part of the season through injury, but still managed to score 8 goals and bag 3 assists in his final 18 outings in all competitions.
His excellent end of season form had already made him a target of many a side, but his goal in the Nations League final has only further boosted interest in his services.
The former Benfica player joined Valencia from PSG last summer for a fee in the region of 40 million euros having impressed while on loan at the Spanish club the season earlier.
And Guedes, still only 22 years of age, is now understood to also be a target of English Premier League outfit Chelsea, with the club believed to be looking to secure his signing.
While Chelsea won’t be the only club interested in signing the Portuguese winger, they appear to be the side most actively pursuing his services.
Indeed, according to Plaza Deportiva, which specialises specifically in news relating to Valencia CF, Chelsea have already put in an offer of £70million for the young Portuguese left winger, with Jorge Mendes facilitating a potential move.
Guedes is believed to be one of the players Chelsea are targeting as a replacement for Real Madrid-bound winger Eden Hazard.
However, Plaza Deportiva also report that the main objective of the Spanish emblem is to retain his services for this upcoming season.
They also state that Guedes is contracted to Valencia until 2024, with a release clause of 300 million euros.
