Porto fail to sign Bruma as he moves elsewhere
And in the end, Bruma will not be a Porto player.
Porto had reached an agreement with both his club - RB Leipzig - and the player himself, and he looked on the verge of completing a move back to the Primeira Liga.
The agreement was for a fee of €15million, but the player's agent Catio Baldé confirmed to Antena 1 that he had chosen to join another club instead.
"He ended up making a commitment yesterday (on Tuesday) with PSV, of the Netherlands. Yes, he will be a PSV player."
"The two clubs (Porto and PSV) reached an agreement with Leipzig for the purchase. They both had the freedom to negotiate with Bruma, and then Bruma got to choose the club he wanted to play for."
"This is football... For various reasons the player preferred to sign for PSV."
The 24-year old winger only started 5 Bundesliga games for Leipzig last season, and overall only featured in a total of 14.
Many of those appearances were last-minute cameos, playing just 5 minutes against Dortmund on the first game of the season, as well as for only a couple of minute at home to both Bayer Leverkusen and Mainz and 9 minutes versus Werder Bremen.
As a result, he only managed to score one goal - in that brief appearance against Bremen - and get one assist, against Hertha Berlin in the 10th gameweek.
