Deadline Day: Raphinha leaves Sporting for 20 million euros
Sporting have sold star winger Raphinha to French outfit Stade Rennais for 20 million euros.
The 22-year old Brazilian right winger had played all four of Sporting’s Primeira Liga games so far this season, scoring twice in the process.
He was a regular in the Sporting lineup last season too, featuring in 36 games across all competitions, scoring 7 and assisting 5 in total, only prevented from playing even more matches as a result of injury.
Raphinha joined Sporting in the summer of 2018 after a spectacular season with Vitoria Guimaraes, where he bagged 15 goals in 32 league games, showing the pace, skill, explosiveness and end product that a side look for in a winger.
However, on transfer deadline day, he leaves the club to join Rennes, who currently sit in 2nd in the French top flight, only behind PSG courtesy of goal difference having won 3 of their opening 4 matches.
