Wolves to loan in Vitor Ferreira from FC Porto with option to buy
Wolves are to complete the loan signing of FC Porto midfielder Vitor Ferreira, which includes the option to make the deal permanent.
Should Wolves choose to enact their purchase option, they will part ways with around 20 million euros for the young Portuguese player, who is highly rated in his home country, known for his quality on the ball and his excellent technique and passing ability. He is also known for good long-range shooting, and has also been praised for his mental fortitude and attitude.
Vitor Ferreira, known as Vitinha, impressed for the Porto B team last season, with an impressive 8 goals and 3 assist in 15 appearances in the Portuguese second division - and his exploits for Porto’s second team earned him cameo appearances for the senior side in the second half of the 2019-20 campaign.
Indeed, after showing excellent ability on the ball with his quick feet, passing range, speed and work rate all regularly on show, the 20-year old starlet played in 8 Primeira Liga games last season, all of which came off the bench, while he has been capped five times at U21 level for the national team.
He was also part of the Porto generation that lifted the UEFA Youth League title in the 2018-19 season, helping his side become the first Portuguese outfit to lift the Champions League equivalent for U19 level.
Jorge Mendes, as the player’s agent, has facilitated the move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, while Bruno Jordao is then expected to move to Famalicao on loan.
