Andrija Zivkovic has found his next club
After terminating his contract with SL Benfica, Andrija Zivkovic has been of significant interest, and has completed a move to Greek outfit PAOK.
After spending four seasons at Benfica, in which he featured in a total of 88 matches, the Serbian fell out of favour at the club despite showing good promise towards the start of his time in the country, and only featured for the Lisbon club on four occasions last season, playing just over 120 minutes in total.
This lack of game time was also due to some injury issues though, and the 24-year old likely would have played more frequently for the Eagles had he been available.
Nevertheless, Benfica were keen to get Zivkovic off their wage bill, and managed to come to an agreement that saw him leave for free.
Though there was a short battle for his signature, it is Greek outfit PAOK, managed by Portugal’s Abel Ferreira, that have officially signed the diminutive winger.
Zivkovic has previously been a target of Greek side Olympiakos, also managed by a Portuguese in Pedro Martins, but it is their title rivals that haved brought him in instead.
After signing for PAOK, Zivkovic’s first match for the club may actually be against Benfica, with PAOK set to play the Lisbon club in a Champions League qualifier next week.
