Braga complete the signing of Chelsea's longest serving player
Braga have completed the signing of Lucas Piazon from Chelsea on a permanent deal, with the Brazilian forward signing for the club until 2025.
Many would be forgiven for not even realising that Lucas Piazon was still a Chelsea player, let alone their longest serving current player, with the Brazilian having spent the last season and a half on the books of Rio Ave, where he had an impressive campaign under the management of Carlos Carvalhal.
In total, Piazon, now 26, played just a single league game for Chelsea, having joined the club a decade ago in 2011. Though he has been on the books of the London club ever since, he has had no fewer than 7 loan spells away from the club across 6 different countries.
Now, however, Piazon has finally left the Premier League outfit on a permanent deal, terminating his contract with Chelsea early in order to sign a four-year deal with Braga that ensures he is reunited with Carvalhal.
