Preview and Predicted Portugal XI for friendly clash with Scotland
Portugal are to face Scotland tonight in a friendly fixture, having beaten Poland 3-2 on Thursday in the UEFA Nations League.
The team will be heavily changed from that last outing, with both Bernardo Silva and Pepe dismissed from international duty by Fernando Santos and returning to their respective clubs.
Rui Patricio will also be out of the clash as a precautionary measure due to a physical ailment having started the match in Poland.
Fernando Santos, while saying that he is treating the match with Scotland seriously, will likely choose a heavily experimental lineup, with a debut opportunity for both Claudio Ramos and Helder Costa potentially on the cards, in addition to Montpelier centreback Pedro Mendes.
All three will fancy their chances to start, or at least feature in the clash at some point and make their first ever appearance for the senior national team.
It is, of course, not easy to predict a Seleção lineup at the best of times, but for a friendly fixture where three crucial players have already been sent home, it becomes even trickier, and the extent to which Fernando Santos will rotate will be interesting to discover.
Portugal predicted XI: Claudio Ramos; Cedric, Ruben Dias, Pedro Mendes, Kevin Rodrigues; Ruben Neves, Renato Sanches, Bruno Fernandes; Bruma, Helder Costa, Eder.
