Pedro Caixinha leads Cruz Azul to glory
Portugal's Pedro Caixinha may have had an unspectacular spell in Scotland with Rangers, but the former Nacional coach has silenced his critics after leading Cruz Azul to victory in the Copa MX.
The title success came after a 2-0 win over Monterrey was secured, allowing Cruz Azul to win what is only their fourth Copa MX title in their history - and their first in 11 attempts.
Having been in charge of the side for under a year, such immediate success will be of great delight to Caixinha, who is looking to revitalise his career after disappointment with Rangers.
Cruz Azul haven't been as impressive in the league though, sitting in 12th position in the Torneo Clausura.
Nevertheless, success in the Copa MX with Cruz Azul follows on from the success he previously had in Mexico with Santos Laguna, where he again won the Copa MX, in 2014, in addition to the Torneo Clausura in 2015.
