Roderick Miranda becomes Olympiakos' second Portuguese summer signing
Roderick Miranda, Wolves' 27 year old centreback, has completed his move to Greek side Olympiakos on a season-long loan.
It comes after the Greek Superleague side signed another Portuguese player in recent days, bringing in former Sporting forward Daniel Podence, one of the nine Sporting players to unilaterally terminate their contract with the club.
The move sees Miranda link up with his former manager Pedro Martins, who was his coach at Rio Ave for two season before leaving for Vitória Guimarães in 2016. Martins, who only joined Olympiakos in April of this year, became the fifth Portuguese coach to manage the Greek giants in just 6 years, continuing the strong footballing link between the two nations.
Miranda endured a frustrating season in the English Championship, featuring in 17 league matches for Wolves as they earned promotion to the Premier League for the first time since 2008-09, with the vast majority of those appearances coming in the first half of the season.
The former Portugal U20 international joined Wolves from Rio Ave for a fee in the region of £2.5million, with the Benfica academy graduate being one of the several Gestifute clients to make the move to the English club managed by Nuno Espirito Santo.
