Andre Silva puts his AC Milan woes behind him with a truly memorable debut
Andre Silva bagged himself an outstanding hattrick on his first appearance for Spanish giants Sevilla, leading his new side to an exceptional 4-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano to earn Sevilla three points in their first league fixture of the new campaign.
Silva, 22, joined the La Liga club on a season-long loan just last week from AC Milan after enduring a frustrating season in Italy, and has already - in just one game - scored more goals than he did over the course of the entire season last year for the Milan-based outfit, where he bagged just two goals in 24 league appearances.
In the same country that Goncalo Guedes also proved his true capabilities last season, Andre Silva got off to a flying start, first scoring in the 31st minute of the tie to put Sevilla 2-0 up, capitalising on some poor Vallecano defending to slot the ball into the back of the net, having been given time to even take a touch in the 18-yard box.
He then doubled his personal tally in stoppage time of the first half, flicking in an instinctive volley after a rebounding chested pass from Gabriel Mercado was directed towards goal.
His third and final goal came with just ten minutes left on the clock, after a delightful chipped through ball from Franco Vazquez found Silva, who beat the offside trap to smash it past the keeper.
