Porto star defender Eder Militao set to join Real Madrid
It’s happening. Real Madrid look set to complete the signing of Porto defender Eder Militao, prepared to now activate his multi-million euro release clause.
As AS report, Real Madrid, wary of the competition for Militao’s signature from Manchester United and Liverpool, are keen to sign the Brazilian international as quickly as possible to beat off other suitors and avoid having to pay more for his services should he sign a new contract with the Portuguese champions.
By activating his release clause now, Real Madrid will only have to pay 50 million euros to bring him in, a value which would be significantly higher after June.
The 21-year old has already verbally agreed to join the Spanish giants in the summer, with Militao set to sign for the club until 2025.
His former club Sao Paulo will receive 5 million euros due to their ownership of 10% of his economic rights.
It is not believed that Militao will join Real Madrid this window.
