It's official: Eder Militão will join Real Madrid this summer
Eder Militão has been the source of great interest for Real Madrid, and the Brazilian centreback has now completed a move to the Spanish giants.
Signing Militão was considered a central objective of Real Madrid, who are keen to bolster their squad after a disappointing campaign.
The arrival of Pepe to the Portuguese champions only last January was always expected to help facilitate a move for the 20-year old, with Pepe able to seemlessly replace Militão in the Porto lineup.
And Real Madrid have since decided to pay Militão's release clause, which came to a total of 50 million euros.
Militão only joined Porto in the summer, but quickly attracted suitors from all over the continent.
Militão will join on a five year contract, signing with Madrid until 2025, and is Zinedine Zidane's first signing since returning to the club earlier this week.
The deal makes Militão the fourth most expensive centreback in footballing history.
