Rafa Silva renews contract with Benfica until 2024
Rafa Silva has extended his contract with Benfica until 2024.
The pacey winger was in scintillating form for Benfica last season, scoring 21 goals across all competitions as he helped Benfica win the league.
He also impressed for Portugal in the UEFA Nations League final, coming on with 15 minutes remaining to show his pace and trickery to earn some new admirers.
The new deal sees his release clause increased to 80 million euros, with it previously being set at 60 million.
His original deal was set to expire in 2021, meaning the new deal sees the 26-year old tied to the club for a further 3 years, 5 in total.
Rafa arrived at Benfica in 2016 for a fee of 16 million euros, making him Benfica’s second most expensive signing in history, only behind Raul Jimenez.
Rafa has represented Portugal 15 times at senior level.
