Official: Portugal's lineup to face The Netherlands announced
Portugal’s starting XI to take on The Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League final has now been confirmed.
There is little surprise in the defensive department with a similar lineup announced as compared to the semi-final clash with Switzerland.
Rui Patricio is the man between the sticks - this marks the 81st match he has played in for the Portugal national team, making him the most capped goalkeeper in Portuguese footballing history.
Meanwhile, it is Jose Fonte and Ruben Dias that are the selected centrebacks, the former replacing the injured Pepe in the starting lineup, while Raphael Guerreiro will play at leftback.
It is Nelson Semedo that retains his place at right back after an excellent performance against Switzerland.
Fernando Santos has opted for Danilo Pereira in midfield, who replaces Ruben Neves, while William Carvalho and Bruno Fernandes also keep their places in midfield.
Up front, Cristiano Ronaldo, having scored a hattrick in the last outing, leads the line, while Manchester City star Bernardo Silva starts on the right. Valencia man Goncalo Guedes is rewarded with a starting berth.
