Official: Bruno Fernandes completes move to Manchester United
Bruno Fernandes has finally completed his highly anticipated move to Manchester United.
The Sporting talisman had been linked with a move to the English Premier League for several months, dating back to the summer transfer window in 2019. No move came to fruition then, though, and Bruno Fernandes remained a Sporting player for the current season.
He only continued to impress for the Lisbon club, getting 15 goals and 14 assists across all competitions this season - meaning he has directly contributed to more goals this campaign than the number of games he’s played.
Manchester United will be parting with 55 million euros up front to sign Sporting’s captain, though the fee could rise to as much as 80 million euros if all objectives at United are achieved.
5 million of the finances will be given to Sporting should United qualify for the Champions League, while another 5 million will be due to the Lisbon club after Fernandes makes a set number of appearances for the English outfit.
The remaining 15 million euros will then go to Sporting CP should the player complete certain objectives while at the club.
Fernandes signs on a five and a half year contract, with the option of a further year included in the contract.
