For the first month ever, Portugal lay claim to both the Premier League player of the month and Premier League manager of the month
For the first time in history, the English Premier League player of the month and the English Premier League manager of the month awards have both been won by Portuguese individuals in the same month.
Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo was elected manager of the month of June having earned three wins out of three without conceding a goal, beating West Ham 2-0 away before triumphing by a one-goal margin over Bournemouth and Aston Villa.
Bruno Fernandes was then voted as June’s player of the month, his 3 goals in 3 matches helping Manchester United earn a point against Spurs and thump Brighton 0-3.
Fernandes is on track to earn the player of the month of July too, having already contributed 2 goals and 3 assists in 2 Premier League matches.
