Jesus Corona is the Primeira Liga Player of the Season
FC Porto star Jesus Corona was voted the 2019-20 Portuguese top flight’s Player of the Season after his exploits were crucial in leading his side to the Portuguese league title.
The right-sided player, who has operated both at right back and on the wing this season, beat off competition from both teammate Alex Telles and Benfica’s Pizzi, both of whom can consider themselves unfortunate not to win the award, but can have no complaints about the overall winner.
In a vote that was decided by the Primeira Liga coaches and captains, it was the 27-year old Mexican international, who has represented his country 42 times, that came out on top, scoring 4 times and assisting 14 in 33 league outings.
Corona has been on the books of FC Porto since 2015 after arriving from FC Twente, having come through the Monterrey academy.
