Portuguese Primeira Liga duo called up to the Brazil national team
Porto and Benfica both have representatives in the latest Brazil squad as a pair of Liga Nos talents earn a call-up to the national team.
Benfica’s new star signing Everton Cebolinha, who has represented his country 14 times at senior level and was top scorer as he led Brazil to the Copa America 2019 title, is unsurprisingly included in the squad. The 20 million euro summers signing is an established player for the Brazil national team and could well play a role in the upcoming international break.
Meanwhile, Porto star Alex Telles, who has been widely linked with a move abroad, has also been included in the squad, having already earned one cap for the senior national team. The 27-year old is in his final year of contract and Porto are looking to cash in on him while they still can.
Brazil are set to play against Bolivia and Peru next month in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
