Portugal U21 match postponed due to Covid-19 outbreak
Portugal’s upcoming match against Belarus in the U21 European Championship qualifiers, which was due to kick off at 17:30, has been postponed due to an outbreak of Covid-19 amongst the Belarus players.
Three Belarus players have tested positive for the virus, putting the match at serious risk, and the match was subsequently called off. The decision of UEFA and their public announcement is expected in due course.
UEFA will not only declare the suspension of the match, but also whether the game will go ahead on a different date - or if Portugal are awarded an automatic victory.
