Cristiano Ronaldo has one of the most prestigious trophy cabinets in all of sporting history, let alone football.
Having experienced endless success at both Manchester United and Real Madrid, he has won the English Premier League (3 times), La Liga (twice), FA Cup, League Cup (twice), Copa del Rey (twice), FIFA Club World Cup, and the Champions League (five times), to name but a few.
And he’s only added to that while in Italy, having won Serie A in his first season at Juventus to add yet another trophy to his cabinet.
And that’s not including his individual awards, with Ronaldo also laying claim to 5 Ballon d’Or awards in his career thus far, his first coming in 2008 and his most recent being in 2017.
To choose his favourite or most important triumph is therefore a difficult task, with an array of possible trophies to choose from.
Nevertheless, that question was recently put towards the current Juventus striker, who was very clear in his answer.
“All trophies are important, but at club level I had already won everything; Champions League, Championships, Super cups… so perhaps the European Cup that I won with Portugal was the most important trophy of my career, I cannot deny it.”
“It is the country where I grew up and where my whole family is from. It’s special, it’s not like winning a trophy for Manchester United, Real Madrid, Sporting, or Juventus…”
“It will potentially be the most special trophy I have won in my career.”
