Sporting are set to sign Nemanja Gudelj from Chinese Super League outfit Guangzhou Evergrande as they look to fill the hole left in their squad after William Carvalho departed for Real Betis.

Now 26, Gudelj has played for his country 22 times, and last season won his first piece of silverware, helping the Chinese club to victory in the Chinese FA Super Cup, the equivalent of the Community Shield or the Supertaça in England and Portugal respectively.

He has also previously played for NAC Breda, AZ and Ajax, amassing a great deal of experience in the Dutch Eredivisie, and his move to Sporting marks the start of his career in a third different country.
