Benfica goalkeeper set for loan move
Bruno Varela is on the verge of completing a loan move until the end of the season.
Varela, 24, will be joining Turkish top flight side Kasimpasa, who are currently sitting in 4th place in the Super Lig, above both Galatasaray and Besiktas.
The Portuguese goalkeeper has not played a single game for the Lisbon club this season, having played a total of 35 matches across all competitions last season, and desperately needs some first team action.
Capped at under-21 level 11 times for his country, Varela has only ever played a single game outside of his home nation, a 3-1 defeat against RCD Mallorca for Real Valladolid.
It remains to be seen if Varela will be the number one at Kasimpasa, although he’s certain to have far more opportunity to play, having only even been on the bench twice for Benfica in the league this campaign.
