After Raul Jimenez, Benfica are set to sell another forward
Having made 38 million euros on the sale of Raul Jimenez, Benfica are set to be guaranteed some more cash before the summer window has even opened.
That is because Andre Carrillo is set to move on permanently, according to press in Saudi Arabia.
The winger, who is currently out on loan at Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, is expected to make his stay at the club permanent this summer.
The 53-time Peruvian international was initially brought in by former Benfica and Sporting manager Jorge Jesus, although he has since been dismissed by the club for failing to commit to a longer-term future with the Saudi side.
It is expected that Carrillo, 27, who was out on loan at Marco Silva's Watford last season, will bring in about 20 million euros for the Lisbon club.
Combine that with the sale of Raul Jimenez, Benfica have already generated a splendid income on player departures before the summer window has even begun, with 58 million euros set to arrive at the club.
It takes off the pressure for Benfica to have to sell some of their star players such as João Felix and Ruben Dias.
