Everton goalkeeper João Virginia joins Reading on loan
Former Arsenal goalkeeper João Virginia has joined English Championship side Reading FC on a season-long loan.
The Portugal U21 international has only played a single senior match of football in his career - in a clash with Bradford in the EFL Cup - but big things are expected of the 19-year old.
Indeed, this loan move could prove the perfect platform for the Benfica academy graduate to show his capabilities, likely to get more first-team action under the management of compatriot Jose Gomes.
Virginia was part of Portugal’s squad that won the U19 European Championship in 2018.
