Zidane set for move to Portugal
One of Zinedine Zidane’s son is to complete a move to the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Desportivo das Aves, who finished 14th in the league last season, have completed the signing of the 24-year old midfielder.
Enzo Zidane, who has represented both Spain and France at youth level, spent the majority of his youth and professional career at Real Madrid, following in the footsteps of his legendary father, but was eventually let go in 2017, joining Alaves instead.
However, he ultimately only made 4 appearances for the Spanish club before having his contract terminated. He then moved to Swiss side Lausanne Sport for the end of the 2017-18 season.
That spell in Switzerland proved to be more productive, playing in 16 of a possible 17 league games, as well as finding the back of the net in a clash with both Sion and Lugano.
After that strong showing with Lausanne, he joined Rayo Majadahonda, who play in the second tier of Spanish football, for the 2018-19 season, playing in 33 league matches overall.
While he failed to find the back of the net, he proved to be a regular, and was fielded in various positions throughout the campaign, be it in central midfield, left wing, right wing, attacking midfield, or even as a centre-forward.
Aves manager Augusto Inacio has now announced that Enzo Zidane will play at Aves next season.
