Could we see Jovane Cabral heading to England this window?
Jovane Cabral is highly rated at Sporting CP, and after an excellent end to the 2019-20 campaign, has been attracting interest from overseas.
Several English clubs have been linked with the 22-year old Sporting winger, with the likes of newly-promoted Fulham and established Premier League outfit West Ham United believed to be interested. According to A Bola, another unnamed Premier League club have also reportedly been looking at the Cape Verdean winger, who has previously made clear his desire to represent the Portugal national team.
Though he only played 16 league games for the Portuguese giants last term, it was through a lengthy injury in the first half of the season that prevented him from having an even more significant impact this campaign - and when he did come back into the side, he proved to be a highly influential player.
Cabral particularly found form under the management of Ruben Amorim, finding the back of the net on 5 occasions in the space of just 5 games.
His direct dribbling style and physicality on the ball makes him a highly desirable asset, added to his speed and proven goalscoring ability, possessing a powerful right foot that has proven particularly useful from direct free-kicks around the opposition penalty area.
Despite his influence in the previous campaign, Sporting are said to be willing to listen to offers upwards of just 20 million euros for his services, which would surely prove good value for money for the one-time Cape Verdean international, particularly in today’s market.
With plenty of time until the end of the transfer window, there is a strong possibility that interest in Cabral will only intensify.
