Wolves to complete the signing of Porto's Fabio Silva
Wolves are on the verge of signing young Porto striker Fabio Silva, deemed one of the biggest and most promising prospects in Portuguese football, for a club record fee of 40 million euros.
The Portugal U19 international has been linked with a potential move to the English Premier League throughout the summer, and Nuno Espirito Santo's Wolves are going to be the destination.
The 18-year old has been seen as something of a star of the future, though he already established himself as a first team squad player for Porto despite his youth, having represented the Portuguese champions on 21 occasions last term.
Most of those outings came as late cameo appearances, though, as he was unable to break through ahead of the likes of Moussa Marega and Tiquinho Soares to regularly earn a starting berth for the club, which explains why he only managed to find the back of the net three times.
He is therefore still somewhat unproven at senior level, though his record and performances for both the Portugal and Porto youth teams have been consistently impressive.
Indeed, having led his club to the UEFA Youth League title in 2019, where he scored 5 goals and assisted 4 in 9 outings, Silva will not only forever be associated with one of the best generations in the history of Porto's academy, but will also be categorized as one of the most promising players to be brought through the club's ranks.
