Porto lose their first friendly match of pre-season
Porto got off to a disappointing start to their preparation for the new campaign as they lost 2-1 to compatriots Portimonense.
Fielding a strong side as they prepare for a season without several key players after the sale of Marcano, Diogo Dalot and Ricardo Pereira, Porto found themselves 2-0 down at half time after goals from Pires and Tabata just before the break.
Last season's Primeira Liga champions pulled one back in the 81st minute courtesy of Andre Pereira, who has recently returned to the club after a loan spell at Vitória Setúbal last campaign, but they did not manage to overturn the deficit.
Porto will be representing Portugal in the Champions League group stage this season, and are also aiming to retain the Portuguese league, with their title defence beginning on the 12th August when they welcome Chaves to the Estádio do Dragão.
