Fired despite sitting top of the league - Portuguese manager Conceicão sacked
Toni Conceicão has been fired as manager of Cluj after winning none of the past three games with the club.
Cluj currently sit top of the Romanian top flight, three points clear of Craiova and FCSB, but that wasn't enough to save Conceicão's job.
Since beating FCSB back on December, Cluj have fallen to defeat against Craiova and drawn against both Astra Giurgiu and Hermannstadt.
Cluj are therefore looking for a new manager - and early reports suggest that it could be another Portuguese manager set to take the reigns.
That's because press are reporting Jose Peseiro as a candidate to succeed Toni Conceicão, the former Porto, Braga and Sporting coach currently out of work.
Toni Conceicão joined Cluj at the start of the season for a third stint at the club and, while sitting pretty at the top of the league, suffered the misery of going out of the Europa League against Luxembourg minnows Dudelange last August.
