This is what Bruno Fernandes had to say about Liverpool and Manchester City
Bruno Fernandes has been discussing various topics relating to football, including some insight into both Liverpool and Manchester City, as well as their respective managers.
Talking about both sides, he made no secret of his admiration for the style of play of both sides, talking in length at the style implemented by Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.
On the Manchester City coach, he said: “Guardiola has got the best out of the players in his team. He knew it would be difficult in England but he adapted.”
“It’s a City side that plays in a similar style to Barcelona, but not exactly the same because the league is different, so the intensity is different, the aggressiveness is different, the competition is different - and he knew how to change.”
Then switching focus to Liverpool, he said “I like Liverpool a lot as well; they play more direct, offensive football. They are maybe less organised, but play more intense football - when they don’t have the ball, they play with more intensity.”
He further showed his tactical awareness, talking about Liverpool’s use of “three very aggressive players” in midfield to help with “recovering the ball” when out of possession.
There were some reports emerging from England that Bruno Fernandes had stated that he preferred Liverpool to Manchester City, although this is not the case; instead, he was talking with great admiration about both clubs equally.
Fernandes has come off a remarkable season, where he directly contributed to 33 league goals in as many games.
As a result of his stellar season, transfer rumours have been swirling, with many suggesting that he could be on his way to the English Premier League - Manchester City and Manchester United both remaining two of the favourites to sign the Portuguese international.
