Ruben Dias a major target for Manchester United
Manchester United have turned their attentions to completing the signing of young Benfica centreback Ruben Dias.
United had originally been targeting Napoli's Koulibaly, although the near 100 million euro asking price deterred the Red Devils.
Instead, they see Ruben Dias as an ideal option to bolster their defence in preparation for the new season.
It would see Dias link up with fellow former Benfica centreback Lindelof, who United signed for approximately 40 million euros back in 2017.
Dias, 22, has already represented his country on 9 occasions - and will feature for Portugal in the upcoming UEFA Nations League, which kicks off on Wednesday in Porto.
United have the opportunity to sign the Benfica academy product for a cut fee - but will have to act quickly if they want to add Dias to their squad.
That's because Dias currently has a release clause of just 60 million euros, a fee which Benfica are demanding in order to sell one of the players they've seen come through their acclaimed academy.
However, Benfica are also looking to increase his release clause to €100million, and so if Manchester United are serious in their interest, they will have to act quickly to snap up the young centreback.
