Manchester City set Leroy Sane asking price based on João Felix
Bayern Munich have shown considerable interest in German international Leroy Sane this summer, but Manchester City have been very reluctant to see him leave.
An important member of City’s squad, Sane is someone Pep Guardiola would like to keep for the upcoming season, even if he isn’t guaranteed a starting berth.
However, while Sane is not a player Manchester City are looking to let go, they have set their asking price for the 23-year old, and it is based on the money paid for Benfica’s teenage star Joao Felix.
Having seen Felix move to Atletico Madrid for a huge 120 million euros last month, they are expecting Sane’s value to reflect that of the current market.
As such, Manchester City are reportedly looking to receive 150 million euros for their winger, justifying the high asking price by referring to the substantial fee paid for Joao Felix.
Their argument is that, if Felix is worth 120 million euros, Sane must be worth more than that, as he has far more senior experience to his name, more international caps (in total 21) and is still a young footballer.
