"He will be the most talked about manager in the world"
Portugal has been the birthplace of some impressive managers over the last couple of decades, with young coaches regularly given a chance to prove themselves.
Having seen plenty go on to have stellar careers abroad, be it Jose Mourinho, Paulo Fonseca, Nuno Espirito Santo or Leonardo Jardim, Portuguese managers are often sought-after across the continent.
However, according to former Braga favourite Alan, who represented the club for 9 years from 2008 to 2017, there is one manager who is set to standout from the rest - Ruben Amorim.
The current Braga coach, who is just 34 years of age and has only been in charge of the club for a month, has already made a startling impression on the club, having won all 4 of the games he has presided over, including a record-equalling 1-7 victory over Belenenses, an impressive league win over FC Porto and a 2-1 triumph over Sporting CP which saw Braga advance to the Portuguese League Cup final.
Today, Braga will play in that final in a highly-anticipated clash with FC Porto; win that, and Amorim will have delivered one of the finest starts to a managerial career anywhere across the continent in the history of the game.
And that prospect wasn’t lost on Alan: “He will be the most talked about coach in the world. Five game, fives wins, and one trophy.”
