Proposal for Florentino Luis on loan with option to buy
Florentino Luis is the latest Benfica player to be associated with a move away from the Lisbon club.
Having seen Gedson Fernandes complete a move to Tottenham Hotspur on an initial 18 month loan with a clause to make the move permanent, Florentino Luis could be on his way out of the club on a similar arrangement.
Benfica were also open to loaning out Joao Filipe for the rest of the season, though no move has yet come to fruition.
With Florentino, however, a move away from the reigning Primeira Liga champions is edging closer, with a firm proposal on the table that Benfica are currently negotiating.
It is AC Milan who are the club who are looking to bring in the talented Benfica midfielder, looking to strengthen their midfield after a testing season.
Luis has struggled for game time under Bruno Lage, the Benfica coach opting for Gabriel and Weigl in the middle of midfield, while Taarabt also appears to be ahead of him in the pecking order.
He has managed just 7 appearances in the league so far this campaign, with injuries also having a role in his limited game time.
