Gonçalo Paciência completes loan move away from Eintracht Frankfurt
Gonçalo Paciência has completed a move away from German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt, joining Schalke on a season-long loan.
The loan will cost Schalke in the region of 1.5 million euros, while they will also have the option to make the 26-year old’s stay at the club permanent for a fee believed to be around 11 million euros.
Paciencia, who has represented Portugal on two occasions, had a strong season for Frankfurt last campaign, scoring 10 and assisting 6 across 43 outings.
However, injury kept him out of the team upon the league resumption post-lockdown, and is behind both compatriot Andre Silva and former Sporting target man Bas Dost in the pecking order.
A move was therefore required to gain more game time, and he should be able to get that at fellow Bundesliga side Schalke.
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Dost, though Paciencia’s departure could make a move less likely.
