Santa Clara to face Olimpija Ljubljana, with Paços de Ferreira to play minnows Larne

Santa Clara eased past Shkupi to set up a meeting with Slovenian outfit Olimpija Ljubljana in the Europa Conference League third qualifying round, while Paços de Ferreira will go into their qualifier as heavy favourites, taking on a Larne side that caused a major upset to get to this stage.

Larne, of Northern Ireland, shocked seeded Danish side AGF in the previous round with a 3-2 aggregate victory, making them one of the lesser known outfits to reach this stage of the competition, which also includes the likes of FC Basel, PAOK, Feyenoord and Copenhagen.

Santa Clara could have very nearly been facing minnows of their own in the next round, with Maltese side Birkirkara taking Olimpija Ljubljana all the way to penalties in their meeting, losing the spot kick in agonizing fashion by 5 goals to 4.

The first leg will take place next Thursday - 5th August - with the second leg taking place the following week.
