He is yet to make his senior debut for Benfica - but that hasn't stopped him from impressing Champions League winners Liverpool.
20-year old David Tavares is the man Jurgen Klopp is thought to be keeping an eye on, impressed by his efforts for the Benfica B team.
It comes after Liverpool played Benfica B in preparation for the Champions League final, Benfica B playing their own special role in helping Liverpool to ultimate European glory.
Tavares was one of the players that Klopp felt stood out from the rest in that practice fixture, his physicality, movement and technical ability impressing the German coach.
No approach was, or has, been made by Liverpool for the youngster, although the interest is worth keeping an eye on, with the once hidden gem in the Benfica academy now gaining more attention.
Big things have been expected from the attacking midfielder, and he will be integrated into the senior team for next season.
He was supposed to get a chance with the senior team at the start of the last campaign while Rui Vitoria was in charge, although he ultimately suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament injury before he had the chance, hence why he missed the vast majority of the previous season.
He is back fit and firing now though, and his development next season is certainly one to keep an eye on.
