Nuno Espirito Santo handed suspended one-game ban by UEFA
Portuguese manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Nuno Espirito Santo, has been given a suspended one-match ban by the UEFA discipline committee.
Julien Lopetegui, manager of Sevilla, has also been handed a one-game suspension after both managers were punished for being involved in the late start to their respective Europa League fixtures earlier this month.
Nuno’s charge came due to the delayed kick-off of Wolves’ match with Sevilla in the Europa League quarter final, while Lopetegui’s came due to the late kick-off of Sevilla’s semi-final clash with Manchester United.
However, the suspensions have been deferred for a one year probation period, meaning that former Porto coach Lopetegui will be able to take to the touchline for the Europa League final on Friday, when Sevilla take on Inter Milan.
Both Wolves and Sevilla have been fined 15,000 euros each for the incident.
