Pedro Pereira set for move to English Championship
Portuguese right back Pedro Pereira is set for a move to the second tier of English football.
The 21-year old attacking full-back has already completed a medical with Bristol City in advance of joining the club on a season-long loan.
The move should be made official by tomorrow, with Pereira having already arrived in Bristol to seal a move to the English Championship.
The former Portugal U20 international spent last season out on loan with Genoa, and had a highly successful time in Italy, playing a total of 26 Serie A matches last campaign.
He impressed with his dribbling prowess down the flank and attacking endeavour, and there were high expectations for the former Sampdoria international, who already has 56 senior appearances at club level to his name.
However, despite the fact that Genoa had a purchase option of 4.5 million euros included in the deal, they decided against making his move permanent, seeing him return to Benfica.
The right back is a highly versatile player, capable of also operating as a left back, or even as a right midfielder, a position he occupied several times for Genoa last campaign.
