Braga complete the signing of Al Musrati
Braga have confirmed the signing of Vitoria Guimaraes defensive midfielder Al Musrati, who signs a contract with the club on a free transfer until 2024.
Braga manager Carlos Carvalhal knows Al Musrati well, as the 24-year old spent the second half of last season out on loan at Rio Ave, where he played under the management of the Portuguese coach.
And the Libyan international was a key figure for Rio Ave during his time there, playing 12 of a possible 15 league matches for the club as he shielded his defence and broke up promising opposition moves, as well as helping to organise the side during defensive phases of the game.
Al Musrati is seen as an ideal replacement for Joao Palhinha, who returned to his parent club Sporting CP after his loan spell at Braga came to an end.
Al Musrati arrived in Portugal in 2017, where he joined Vitoria Guimaraes from Libyan outfit Al-Ittihad Tripoli, and played extensively for Guimaraes’ B team.
He has represented his country 27 times, scoring 2 goals. He is already Braga’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
