Benfica officially and categorically deny the "close" sale of João Felix to West Ham
Benfica have categorically denied the suggestion that they are on the verge of selling João Felix to English Premier League outfit West Ham United.
Despite reports from England that the transfer of the highly-rated 18-year old forward to West Ham is "close" and something both West Ham and Benfica are "keen to complete", the Lisbon club have since come out and rebuffed the claim, stating on its official website that the words of Sky Sports are "false and without any foundation".
They go on to suggest that Felix will remain with Benfica for the coming years, with the highly-talented teenager yet to play a senior match for the Primeira Liga club, stating that he is a "solid prospect for this and the coming seasons" for Benfica's senior side.
